Prove your backup would bring the business back.

Veeam positions its Data Platform as unifying backup, recovery, security and compliance across virtual, physical, cloud and SaaS workloads, with recovery designed to work back to a different platform rather than only the one it came from. Kritical uses that as a starting point, then tests whether your actual recovery would work under real conditions, so you have confidence before you need it.

What Veeam says its platform does.

Veeam describes its Data Platform as covering backup, recovery, security and compliance in one product family, spanning virtual machines, physical servers, cloud workloads and software-as-a-service applications such as Microsoft 365. Veeam's own emphasis is on avoiding being locked to one storage vendor or cloud, and on recovering quickly rather than merely proving that a backup job completed.

The gap between a completed backup job and a proven recovery.

Recovery-time and recovery-point targets only help when they are tied to a scenario the business can understand. Kritical records what happens, who acts and the agreed timing if a server room, cloud tenant or application is unavailable.

  • We test the restore, not just the backup A defined recovery scenario is checked against evidence, not assumed because the backup job shows green.
  • A recovery-time answer for a real scenario You get a plain-English answer for what comes back, and roughly when, for the failure you worry about.
  • Recovery ownership written into the service Your proposal names who monitors protection, who can request a restore and how recovery evidence and handover are managed.

Who this page is for.

Three situations bring people to this page.

You have backups, but have never tested a restore

Jobs complete on schedule, but a full end-to-end recovery has not yet been demonstrated.

A ransomware or compliance requirement

An insurer, customer or regulator now wants evidence of tested, immutable backup and a documented recovery plan.

Choosing or replacing a backup product

You are deciding between Veeam and an alternative and need the licensing, storage and service model explained plainly.

Review the whole protection path.

Discuss source systems, backup storage, access, retention and the dependencies needed for restoration. Existing licences and infrastructure help establish which options are feasible. We agree the product and deployment scope before implementation. There is no fixed price for a backup assessment or migration — it depends on data volume, retention and recovery requirements, and we will quote it.

What happens once we understand the protection path.

A backup conversation does not need a finished architecture to start.

The first call

A conversation about source systems, retention and the recovery scenario you worry about — no commitment yet.

See Veeam licensing, implementation and operation separately

Licensing, implementation and any operated service priced separately, so you see what each part costs.

Schedule the first restoration test early

The first restoration test is scheduled early, so a gap is found before you need the backup for real.

Make service responsibilities explicit.

Choose the level of help you need: Veeam licensing, an implementation project or an operated backup service. We show the hosting, monitoring, support hours and restoration responsibilities together, so you can compare the complete service rather than the licence alone.

Send your renewal notice

If you are comparing an existing backup contract, send the product, capacity and renewal date for a like-for-like comparison.

Start from the work you are buying.

Business owners & operations

When computers, email, access, security and business software need attention at the same time, Kritical works out what to fix first, what to manage ongoing, and what it will cost — in writing, before you commit to anything.

IT leaders & delivery teams

When a hard problem crosses infrastructure, identity, applications, security and AI, Kritical aims to provide continuity through a consistent lead or delivery group where the agreed scope and service model support it. The proposal sets out the contact model, cover and handover arrangements so ownership remains clear. We price the work in writing and hand over the agreed operating information.

Individuals, households, families & workplace buyers

Whether you are buying as an individual, for a household or family, or for a business, tell us what you need to buy, replace or renew. Kritical checks compatibility, licensing and deployment; current product pricing is shown in our online catalogue, while setup and unpublished combinations are confirmed in a written quote.

Questions before you enquire

How do we know our backup would recover?

By testing it. We define a representative restoration scenario, run it, and record the evidence — rather than assuming a completed backup job proves recovery works.

Is Veeam the right product for us, or is there a better fit?

That depends on your workloads, existing licences and recovery requirements. We check the fit before recommending a specific product.

What should we send with an enquiry?

Tell us what you have today, what needs to change and when. Add the product, subscription or quote details if you need pricing. Never include passwords or confidential records.

Can you manage backup for us, not just implement it?

Yes. We can quote an operated backup service with defined monitoring, support hours and restoration responsibilities, separate from a one-off implementation project.

Do you cover Microsoft 365 backup as well as servers?

Yes. Microsoft 365 does not back your mailbox, files or Teams data up for you by default, and we scope that coverage alongside server and virtual-machine backup rather than treating it as a separate, optional extra.

How often should a recovery be tested?

Often enough that the result is still trustworthy when you need it — the right frequency depends on how quickly your systems and data change. We agree a testing cadence as part of the scope, rather than leaving it undefined.

Let’s define the next step.

Tell us what you want to achieve, what you have today and when it matters.
